NEWSPAPER STAND MEMORABILIA

My dad’s company made these paperweights for newspapers in the 1950s. His weights were made with pure iron. Today’s weights are usually made of plastic. Dad gave me his whole collection of newspaper memorabilia as a birthday present, and it’s a great thing my mom agreed to keep it in storage at their home ‘cause I’m running out of space in my tiny apartment. I wonder if computer news will someday eliminate newspapers?

The blue-and-white paperweight for The Star, 5 cents, has a small change tray built into it, for nickels of course.
