Next time you see pencils being swept up by the custodian at school, think about this – in Cuba kids only get two pencils for the entire school year. Pencils are kinda like laptop computers – before pencils were invented, people wrote messages by carving into rocks. The regular old pencil is actually a very old and important tool that was invented by people who wanted to get smarter.
