TOKENS

Here are subway, bus and train tokens from all across the U.S.A. Sometimes I arrange them in size order, or in alphabetical order, since almost all of them have a letter cut into the metal. They stopped using tokens in NYC in 2004, so I like to collect tokens because they are getting rare. Someday, kids won’t even know what tokens are.

The small token with the Y cut-out is the first token used in the NYC subways. Before that people just used nickels.
